Scenarios/Simulations

We are excited to introduce a series of custom scenarios for "Command: Modern Operations," designed specifically to enhance critical thinking within our community. By crafting intricate and engaging scenarios, we aim to challenge players with complex, multi-layered situations that require strategic and analytical decision-making. Each scenario incorporates diverse objectives, variable outcomes based on player choices, and elements of both collaboration and competition. Realistic constraints, such as limited resources and time pressures, are included to simulate authentic decision-making environments. We invite you to download and explore these scenarios through the attached links and experience firsthand how they can sharpen your cognitive skills and problem-solving abilities.

01

Operation Sentinel Skyfall

As the Commander of United States Africa Command (USAFRICOM), you are tasked with a critical mission to support local forces combating insurgents in the region. Leveraging a diverse array of airframes and assets, you will provide necessary air support. Additionally, you will have command over French air assets located in the region. Your mission includes the protection of key installations: all bases, the UN Command HQ in Zimbabwe, the UN Defense Mission Barracks in Tanzania, the hospital in Niger, and the UN delegation traveling to the UN Embassy in Nigeria from Cameroon. While engaging with terrorist insurgents, strict rules of engagement are in place to avoid conflict with Red Team air forces, their local allies, and PMCs unless in self-defense. Despite the contested airspace, you are granted freedom of movement to achieve your objectives. Your leadership and strategic decisions will be pivotal in maintaining regional stability and supporting allied forces. Godspeed, Commander.

Operation Life Line

In response to a significant escalation in the Indo-Pacific region, China has launched a major military offensive aimed at encircling and blockading Taiwan. The People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) and People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) are conducting aggressive operations to establish maritime dominance and air superiority. The Chinese forces are positioning themselves to isolate Taiwan from external support and disrupt its defensive capabilities. In this high-stakes environment, the United States has mobilized Carrier Strike Group 11 (CSG-11), led by the USS NIMITZ (CVN 68), to provide critical support to Taiwanese Defense Forces (TDF) to prevent the blockade and ensure the island nation's defense.

CSG-11’s mission involves a comprehensive strategy, including maintaining air and naval superiority, securing key maritime approaches, and reinforcing strategic locations in Tainan and Taipei with Special Operations Forces. The rules of engagement are designed to prevent escalation, allowing free fire on all threats above the Taiwanese defense zone while avoiding engagement with mainland China. Success will be measured by the continued defense of Taiwanese forces, control over strategic areas, and effective integration of U.S. special operations units with TDF.

Operation Leadless

Operation Leadless is a high-stakes, SOF mission designed to disrupt critical Russian military operations behind enemy lines in Eastern Ukraine. Intelligence reports indicate an imminent large-scale resupply effort by Russian forces, originating from Belgorod and involving key supply routes protected by advanced radar and air defense systems. This mission is crucial to weakening the enemy’s front-line capabilities and gaining a strategic advantage.

The mission will be executed by coalition forces. The primary objectives are to neutralize enemy radar systems, sabotage a key ammunition depot, and safely extract an embedded recon unit who has provided vital intelligence.

Operation Leadless demands precision, stealth, and decisive action. The risks are high, with Russian air assets, including Ka-52 attack helicopters, MiG-29s, and attack drones, heavily patrolling the area. Success will hinge on the ability to operate undetected, strike swiftly, and withdraw safely, leaving the enemy’s supply chain in disarray and their front-line operations severely compromised.

04

Operation Guardian Shield

Operation Guardian Shield is a pivotal naval mission aimed at securing the Gulf of Aden, a vital maritime corridor increasingly threatened by Houthi rebel forces from Yemen. These rebels have demonstrated their capability to disrupt shipping lanes using small boats, drones, and shore-based missile systems, posing significant risks to merchant vessels. The 12th Carrier Strike Group, positioned off the coast of Somalia, leads this operation, providing essential naval and air support. Additionally, aircraft from Camp Lemonnier in Djibouti are on standby to deliver rapid air support and reconnaissance. The mission's core objective is to safeguard commercial shipping by conducting regular patrols, escorting ships through high-risk areas, and launching suppression attacks against Houthi positions to weaken their operational capabilities.

The operation is governed by strict Rules of Engagement (ROEs) that authorize the use of force in defense of merchant vessels under imminent threat. Success for Operation Guardian Shield is defined by the safe and uninterrupted passage of merchant vessels, a significant reduction in Houthi capabilities, and effective coordination between naval and air assets. Conversely, any successful attacks by Houthi forces, failure to suppress their activities, or significant collateral damage would be considered a failure. The ultimate goal of this operation is to maintain the Gulf of Aden as a secure passageway for global maritime commerce, free from Houthi aggression.
